Retatrutide(LY-3437943) , also known as Retaglutide, is a drug in development to treat obesity and type 2 diabetes.
Retatrutide is a fatty acid acylated single peptide that combines GCGR, GIPR, and GLP-1R activities. It is based on a heavily modified GIP peptide backbone and can bind to albumin in the blood, thereby prolonging its residence time in the blood.
Retatrutide has shown significant weight loss effects in clinical trials in obese patients. In a double-blind, randomized controlled trial, subjects were randomly assigned to receive different doses of Retatrutide per week for 48 weeks. The results showed that all dose levels of Retatrutide groups showed good weight loss effects, especially in the high-dose group (12 mg), where the subjects lost an average of 24 kg. In addition, Retatrutide can significantly improve blood sugar control and lipid metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes.
